Cruz Roja Guatemalteca is conducting a search operation for a missing small aircraft in the areas surrounding Volcán de Agua and Volcán de Fuego. The rescue mission, supported by ECHO, combines the use of advanced drones and ground teams to increase the chances of locating the aircraft.
According to Cruz Roja Guatemalteca, drones equipped with advanced technology are being used to cover large areas and gather real-time images. This approach allows for more efficient searches and provides critical information for coordinating actions on the ground.
Rescue teams are also searching on foot through difficult terrain. Volunteers are working under challenging conditions to inspect all possible locations where the plane might have landed or crashed.
Collaboration with ECHO has provided additional resources and technical assistance, strengthening the rescue team’s capacity to handle challenges during the mission.
The organization encourages those interested in updates about this search and other activities to follow their social media channels and visit their website.
