The Guatemalan Social Security Institute (IGSS) has honored 239 employees for their 25 years of service to the institution and its beneficiaries across the country. Of those recognized, 176 are from the metropolitan area while 63 work in departmental branches, demonstrating the organization's nationwide reach.

During the ceremony, Zámara Yohana Velásquez, Deputy Manager of Human Resources, stated, “Each honoree represents the spirit of service that distinguishes IGSS, and their career inspires new generations of workers.”

The event was led by José Adolfo Flamenco Jau, President of the Board of Directors. He acknowledged the dedication and commitment of those honored. He said that IGSS is "the most beautiful institution in the country and a testament to being a good employer," highlighting the value of employees who have maintained consistent service for a quarter century.

Nohemy Quevedo, a supervisor in nursing at the Rehabilitation Hospital, received her recognition with emotion. She emphasized how important IGSS has been for her family’s life. She said that this award reflects sacrifice and opportunities and encouraged younger workers to focus on positive aspects. She thanked authorities for making her feel valued and expressed pride and gratitude for being part of IGSS.

This year, nursing staff made up the largest group among those honored, with 128 workers recognized for their dedication and sensitivity in medical care. The event concluded with diplomas and commemorative pins presented to all honorees.
