Guatemalan Social Security Institute seeks psychiatry specialists for CAISM unit

The Guatemalan Social Security Institute (IGSS) has announced an external call for applications to fill two specialist medical positions at the Comprehensive Mental Health Care Center (CAISM). The available roles are for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist, working six hours per day from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and a Forensic Psychiatry Specialist, with an eight-hour schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

According to IGSS, the application deadline is August 13, 2025. The recruitment process is managed by the institute’s Human Resources Sub-Management.

"El Instituto Guatemalteco de Seguridad Social a través de la Subgerencia de Recursos Humanos invita a participar en la convocatoria externa para la plaza vacante 011," stated IGSS in its announcement.

These vacancies are part of ongoing efforts by IGSS to strengthen mental health services within its facilities.

Related calls for other medical positions have also been issued recently, including openings for general practitioners and specialists in urology at the Villa Nueva clinic, pharmacy technicians at Antigua Guatemala Hospital in Sacatepéquez La Capitanía, and internal medicine specialists at Ceibal General Accident Hospital.
