Workers and patients at Hospital Roosevelt came together to create decorative carpets in honor of the Niño de la Reconciliación procession. The event involved staff from various departments, units, and sections of the hospital working alongside patients.
According to the hospital, this activity is more than a tradition; it is meant to show a sense of community and hope among those at the facility. “With hands full of devotion and united hearts, workers from the different directions, departments, units and sections of Hospital Roosevelt, along with patients, gathered to make colorful carpets in honor of the procession of the Niño de la Reconciliación,” stated hospital representatives. “This gesture, beyond a tradition, reflects the spirit of community, faith and hope that flourishes within the hospital. Each flower placed, each design formed on the ground is testimony to the collective effort and dedication of those who care for thousands of Guatemalans every day.”
The procession route starts at the Adult Emergency area and ends at Maternity. Organizers describe this as a symbol representing the cycle of life cared for at Hospital Roosevelt. “Between prayers, colors and smiles, Hospital Roosevelt transforms for a few hours into a space for reflection and spiritual unity,” they added.
