The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala, MINEX Guatemala, has issued several official statements on its social media account in early December 2025. The messages include condolences to Sri Lanka following a deadly cyclone and greetings to Finland on its Independence Day.
This statement conveys the Guatemalan government's sympathy for the loss of life and impact caused by Cyclone Ditwah in Sri Lanka.
Earlier that day, on December 6, MINEX Guatemala also extended congratulations to Finland: " | Guatemala saluda y felicita al Pueblo y Gobierno de #Finlandia en ocasión de su Día de Independencia. #RelacionesConElMundo @Ulkoministerio https://t.co/t6h4uvBxfB".

MINEX Guatemala serves as the country's diplomatic body responsible for managing foreign relations and issuing official communications regarding international events and bilateral relations. The recent expressions of solidarity with Sri Lanka follow reports of severe casualties and destruction caused by Cyclone Ditwah in South Asia during late 2025. Meanwhile, the message to Finland coincides with that nation's annual celebration of independence on December 6th.
