In Tactic, Alta Verapaz, 40 women from the communities of Bempec, Guaxpac, Chiji, and Rocjá have received support to start sustainable poultry farming systems. Each woman was given 15 native ducks for egg production and fattening. The initiative was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) through its Vice Ministry of Rural Economic Development (VIDER).

As part of the program, participants also took part in a practical training session on bird management, feeding, and health. This training is intended to help them strengthen their production and make full use of the resources provided.

According to MAGA, "With this initiative we promote family agricultural diversification, improve nutrition with animal protein and women start businesses that open new income opportunities for rural families."

The project aims to foster economic development in rural areas by supporting women's entrepreneurship and improving household nutrition.
