On November 12, 2025, MAGA Guatemala announced a collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to support vulnerable small farmers in Purulhá, Baja Verapaz. According to the post: "#BajaVerapaz | Con apoyo de la #FAO impulsamos el programa RELIVE en Purulhá, para fortalecer los medios de vida de pequeños agricultores vulnerables. Se instaló geomembrana y se brindó capacitación en el uso de sistemas de riego por goteo, dirigida a promotores de ocho CADER." The tweet highlighted the installation of geomembranes and training in drip irrigation systems for promoters from eight CADER groups.
Later that day, on November 12, 2025, another post featured a testimonial from a local producer. The tweet stated: "#Petén | William Morales, productor de Poptún, nos cuenta el apoyo que ha recibido para la instalación de un biodigestor. #ElPuebloDignoEsPrimero". This message focused on assistance provided for installing a biodigester.
On November 13, 2025, MAGA Guatemala issued a reminder about the cost-free nature of its administrative procedures. The tweet read: "Los trámites del MAGA son gratuitos. Si alguien le pide dinero, no lo permita y denuncie. Ingrese a nuestra página web https://t.co/CKNpWCmlXN , donde encontrará el botón “Yo denuncio”, en el cual con un solo click le desplegará el respectivo formulario para la denuncia." The ministry urged users to report any instances where payment is requested for services that should be free.
MAGA Guatemala is responsible for developing policies and programs aimed at supporting agriculture and food security across the country. Through partnerships such as those with FAO and direct support to local producers like William Morales in Petén, the ministry continues to implement projects intended to strengthen rural livelihoods and improve agricultural practices.
