Farmers in several communities of El Chal, Petén, have received agricultural supplies from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA). The beneficiaries are located in Cooperativa Las Flores, El Quetzalito, El Poxte I, San Rafael Amatitlán and La Oriental.

The distribution was managed by the agricultural team from the Directorate of Agricultural Development (DAGRO), under the Vice Ministry for Petén Affairs (VIPETÉN).

According to MAGA, "This initiative aims to strengthen bean plots and promote agricultural development in the region, contributing to increased local production and food security for the communities."

As part of this support, metal silos were also delivered for storing bean seeds. This is intended to improve conservation and management of beans in each community.

A total of 70 silos were distributed. Each silo measures 0.86 meters in diameter, 1.8 meters high and has a capacity of 18 quintals. These resources are expected to benefit families across different municipalities.

MAGA stated that these actions are part of its ongoing work through VIPETÉN to strengthen food security and enhance productive capacities among farming families in the department.
