A total of 250 improved poultry birds were distributed to women in the San Pablo Chinajá community, located in Poptún, Petén. The initiative was led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) and aims to support 50 families.

The distribution was carried out by the Directorate of Agricultural Development (DAGRO) under the Vice Ministry for Petén Affairs (VIPETÉN).

According to MAGA, this effort is intended to strengthen family poultry production, contribute to food security, and create economic development opportunities for rural communities in the region.

“These actions are part of programs promoted by the agricultural ministry to support families in Petén, fostering self-sufficiency, well-being, and productive growth in the area,” stated a MAGA spokesperson.

The program aligns with MAGA’s broader efforts to improve living conditions and promote sustainable agriculture among rural populations.
