Twelve members of the Centros de Aprendizaje para el Desarrollo Rural (CADER) group from Grano de Oro, Melchor de Mencos, Petén, recently participated in a training session on making liquid dish soap. The session aimed to help families improve their household economy by learning productive skills.
The workshop was led by a rural home extension worker from the Ministerio de Agricultura, Ganadería y Alimentación (MAGA). Participants learned practical techniques for producing liquid soap and discussed how these new skills could support small local businesses.
According to MAGA, "De esta manera, el MAGA continúa impulsando iniciativas que mejoran la calidad de vida de las familias rurales y contribuyen al desarrollo sostenible de las comunidades del país." This translates as: "In this way, MAGA continues to promote initiatives that improve the quality of life for rural families and contribute to the sustainable development of communities in the country."
The training is part of ongoing efforts by MAGA to provide resources and education aimed at strengthening rural economies.
