The Ministerio de Cultura y Deportes de Guatemala has announced a series of cultural events and initiatives through its official Twitter account, highlighting both international collaborations and national heritage celebrations.
On November 4, 2025, the Ministry reported that Sheveleva attended a rehearsal of “El Cascanueces,” which will be performed in December at the Teatro al Aire Libre "Otto René Castillo" within the Centro Cultural "Miguel Ángel Asturias." (November 4, 2025).
In a subsequent post on the same day, the Ministry emphasized the international context of this event: "Este intercambio cultural se realiza con motivo del 80 Aniversario de las giras rusas en América Latina del 'Ballet Ruso Original' y en el marco del Convenio entre la República de Guatemala y el Gobierno de la Federación de Rusia. #ElPuebloDignoEsPrimero" (November 4, 2025). This exchange marks eight decades since Russian ballet tours began in Latin America and is conducted under an agreement between Guatemala and Russia.
Additionally, the Ministry highlighted efforts to celebrate local heritage with another tweet on November 4, 2025: " #Guatemala es sede del Encuentro Nacional de Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial Afrodescendiente y Garífuna, organizado por esta cartera a través de la Dirección de Patrimonio Intangible y la Dirección General de Desarrollo Cultural." This event focuses on intangible cultural heritage among Afro-descendant and Garífuna communities in Guatemala.
The Ministry's activities are part of ongoing efforts to foster both international cultural exchanges—such as those commemorating Russian ballet’s presence in Latin America—and to support national identity by recognizing and celebrating the country’s diverse intangible heritage.
