A technical assistance event focused on improving cattle health and preventing livestock diseases was held at La Bendición de Dios farm in the Cansís community, San Luis, Petén. The initiative is part of ongoing sanitary surveillance programs led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA), aiming to strengthen livestock production and ensure safe food for the population.

Specialized staff from the Directorate of Agricultural Development (DAGRO) and the Vice Ministry in Charge of Petén Affairs (VIPETÉN) conducted tuberculin tests and serological sampling on 72 cattle. These measures are intended to monitor and prevent diseases such as tuberculosis and brucellosis.

According to MAGA, "These actions are part of the sanitary surveillance programs promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA), with the purpose of strengthening livestock production and ensuring safe food for the population."

The coordinated work between MAGA technicians and local livestock producers aims to boost productivity, promote good practices, and support sustainable development in Petén's agricultural sector.
