The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) has provided training and technical assistance to pig farmers in San Bartolomé Milpas Altas, Sacatepéquez. The initiative aims to strengthen pig production and promote an integrated productive chain.

The training covered all stages of the production process, from weaning to the commercialization of pork. The goal is for producers to play a comprehensive role as both breeders and final sellers, adding value to their products.

Expected outcomes from the program include improved family incomes through optimized production processes, reduced reliance on intermediaries, and added value to pork meat. This approach is intended to secure better prices and improve market positioning for local producers.

MAGA continues its efforts nationwide to build local capacities and develop sustainable productive chains in both agriculture and livestock sectors.
