The Ministry of Education of Guatemala, Mineduc Guatemala, recently shared a series of updates on its official X account, highlighting initiatives related to sexual violence prevention, digital communication with the public, and an interinstitutional agreement aimed at combating child labor.
On November 4, 2025, Mineduc Guatemala posted: "¡El silencio no es opción! Si necesitas ayuda, llama #1510Cuéntalo #NoMásViolenciaSexual #Denuncia https://t.co/6WH56LPfDN". The message urges individuals to speak out against sexual violence and provides a hotline for those seeking help.
A subsequent post on November 5, 2025 announced new channels for direct communication with the public: "Únete a nuestro canal de WhatsApp y recibe directo en tu celular nuestras últimas novedades e información que preparamos para ti Entra al enlace y abre WhatsApp, presiona “seguir” y activa las notificaciones https://t.co/o8TjKEJkJk https://t.co/0NMhvONYdF". This initiative aims to facilitate access to information about educational programs and services by leveraging popular messaging platforms.
Later that day, the Ministry highlighted collaboration between education and labor authorities. The agreement between the Minister of Education and Minister of Labor seeks to promote education and dignified employment while taking coordinated action against child labor in Guatemala.
Guatemala has faced persistent challenges related to child labor and sexual violence. In response to these issues, government ministries have established hotlines such as #1510 for victims of violence and abuse. These efforts are part of broader strategies intended to improve reporting mechanisms and support vulnerable populations across the country.
