MAGA Guatemala has announced a series of initiatives to support food security and agricultural development in various regions of the country, according to posts made on its official X (formerly Twitter) account.

The post highlights the distribution of free food assistance to 6,427 families facing food insecurity in Zacapa. It also notes that staff from the Contraloría General de Cuentas were present to ensure transparency throughout the process.

This message reports the delivery of 600 bags of ICTA B7 corn seed in Melchor de Mencos to benefit rural families in several communities. It also mentions similar seed distributions in Izabal.

On November 4, MAGA Guatemala shared an additional initiative aimed at educational institutions: "Capacitamos y entregamos kits de jardinería y semillas de rábano en 70 centros educativos de las direcciones departamentales Guatemala Occidente y Guatemala Sur, beneficiando a escuelas de Mixco, San Juan Sacatepéquez, San Pedro Sacatepéquez, Villa Nueva, Amatitlán y Guatemala". The post describes training sessions and the distribution of gardening kits and radish seeds across seventy schools in western and southern districts of Guatemala City and surrounding municipalities.

These activities are part of ongoing government programs intended to address food insecurity and promote agricultural education throughout different regions in Guatemala. Efforts such as these are frequently overseen by agencies like the Contraloría General de Cuentas to ensure accountability during public resource distribution processes.
