Guatemala’s Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Food, María Fernanda Rivera Dávila, is attending the Conference of Ministers of Agriculture of the Americas 2025. The event takes place from November 3 to 5 in Brasília, Brazil. It is organized by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and the Government of Brazil. The conference brings together ministers and senior officials from the agricultural sector across the continent.

The theme for this year’s conference is “A new narrative for agriculture and agri-food systems in the Americas.” The event aims to strengthen regional cooperation, innovation, and sustainability within the agricultural sector.

The conference also serves as a platform for political and technical dialogue on key issues such as food security, scientific and technological transformation in production, and agriculture’s role in addressing climate and energy challenges.

According to organizers, Guatemala’s participation underscores its commitment to sustainable agricultural development and regional integration efforts that support stronger agri-food systems for rural communities both domestically and throughout the continent.
