The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) organized a training session in El Estor, Izabal, aimed at promoting healthy nutrition through the use of local resources. The technical team from the Rural Home component led the instruction, focusing on topics such as the "farmer-to-farmer" methodology, family gardens, and healthy eating.

Participants learned to prepare various nutritious recipes using ingredients commonly found in their communities. These included pineapple and jalapeño hot sauce, pineapple and cucumber drink, bougainvillea and lemon water, plantain pastries, and tamarind sweets.

Additionally, a professional from the Animal Welfare Unit (UBA) participated in the training to address important animal care topics.

According to MAGA, these initiatives are designed to encourage healthy nutrition and make better use of local agricultural production in rural communities. The ministry stated that this effort helps improve the quality of life for families.
