First Farmer’s Fair brings together producers and community in San Juan Chamelco

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food (MAGA) held the first Farmer's Fair in San Juan Chamelco, Alta Verapaz. The event aimed to boost local production and improve marketing opportunities for farmers.

About 70 local farmers and cooperative producers participated in the fair, offering fresh and natural products directly to consumers from nearby communities. Organizers reported strong attendance at the event, with producers expressing satisfaction at being able to connect directly with buyers.

The municipality played a strategic role as a key partner in organizing the fair. According to MAGA, "The Farmer's Fairs are a space to promote local production and family economy, an initiative of MAGA that contributes to strengthening agriculture and the development of dignified communities."

This event marks a new chapter for local agricultural production in San Juan Chamelco.
